Mintages - Number Produced
* - The following table displays each year's United States Proof set maximum mintage. Keep in mind that the number minted may not represent what exists today. Fewer proof sets remain because some have been broken apart for collectors to obtain specific coins to fill blank spaces in sets, others have been damaged and mishandled, and a large number of silver sets were melted when silver was high.
Proof set coins from 1968 to the present contain "S" mint marked coins. These were produced at the San Francisco United States government Mint. Proof coin sets minted in 1964 and earlier have no mint mark and were produced at the Philadelphia United States government Mint.
