The following mint silver coins sets are graded MS69 (Mint State Brilliant Uncirculated) by NGC (Numismatic Guaranty Corporation) or ANACS. NGC, ANACS, and PCGS (Professional Coin Grading Service) are perhaps the most popular independent third party coin grading services today. They use the coin grading scale of 1 to 70, with a grade of MS70 meaning absolute "perfect". Some experts say there is no such thing as a "perfect" coin. In fact, some grading services will rarely, if ever, place a grade on any coin above MS-69, one of the highest grades available. The attribute MS means that these coins are MINT STATE. Mint state coins may grade anywhere from MS60 to MS70. The coin sets priced below have been graded MS-69, certified as genuine, encased in a tamper resistant holder, and assigned their own unique serial numbers. Many newly minted coins from the US government Mint will have microscopic flaws or blemishes that keep them from meeting this strict top of the line MS69 grade.
