Release Date Schedule
The U.S. "50 State Quarters" Program
The United States Congress commissioned the United States government mint to produce a Washington Quarter with a design representing each of the 50 States. Five different statehood Quarters are produced each year and are issued in the order that the states joined the union. Below is the scheduled order of release.

The U.S. mint also produced "mint sets". Mint sets are special coin sets that usually contain "uncirculated" non-proof coins. Beginning in 1999 the Mint Sets also contain both P and D mint marked State Quarters. Click here for US Mint Set production numbers.
State Quarters with "s" mint marks were only issued in U.S. Mint proof coin or proof quarter sets. To view or purchase proof "S" mintmarked quarter sets

"P" mintmarks indicate a coin produced at the Philadelphia United States government Mint. "D" mint mark indicates it was minted at the Denver United states mint. Proof statehood quarters with "S" mint marks were sold by the mint in year sets and may be found in both clad (nickel/copper) and silver composition. Clad "S mint-mark quarters were not sold individually, and are found in the proof sets or proof quarter sets minted from 1999 to the present. From 1999 to 2003 "silver" proof state quarters were sold only in special 9 or 10 coin "silver" proof sets. Beginning in 2004 "silver" proof S mint quarters were sold as a quarter set, and also in an 11 piece silver coin set that included other size coins. For mintages of proof quarters/sets click here.
